Plan the complete look
Use this checklist for a solo, duet, trio or group performance. Check your teacher's guidance and your event's own costume and prop rules.
Before choosing a costume
- Confirm the dance style, routine theme and preferred colours.
- Set a budget that includes the costume, accessories and delivery.
- Record the competition date and an earlier date for a fit check and rehearsal.
- List every dancer's measurements and the required sizes.
- Check footwear, coverage, headpieces and props with your teacher.
Before ordering
- Check exactly what is included; photographs may show styling accessories sold separately.
- Check availability across every size and colour needed for the group.
- Check the size chart, delivery estimate and returns information.
- Order at least 4 to 6 weeks before your event.
Before travelling
- Check the full outfit, fastenings and accessories.
- Pack shoes, tights or socks, appropriate underlayers and hair accessories.
- Label garment bags and keep a copy of the running order.
- Allow time for a supervised movement check in the complete outfit.
